Together with the Rothorn and some secondary peaks forms the Spillgerte a solid, bounded on the south by Färmeltal ( a side valley of the Simmental ), to the west by the Simmental and the North East of Alpetli, Wildgrimmi and Grimmi ( three Alpine uppermost in Diemtigtal ). The Scheidegg in the northwest and the Grimmifurggi in the east form two foot walk-in transitions between the Simmental and the Diemtigtal.

The Hinderi Spillgerte may, unusual for a pre-Alpine peaks, only over a longer climbing routes ( III. degrees partly brittle rock ) are climbed. The Vorderi Spillgerte be reached in a challenging mountain hike over roadless terrain.
