Spirit Airlines is an American low-cost airline based in Miramar, Florida.

History

Spirit Airlines was founded in 1980 as Charter One in Eastpointe and initially served only regional objectives.

In 2006, Spirit Free Spirit frequent flyer program before, on 25 January 2007 they ordered 30 aircraft of the type Airbus A319 -100 and was therefore the purchaser of the 5000th aircraft from the Airbus A320 family. In the meantime, the Company changed its corporate design including painting its fleet by a black / silver scheme in a white / blue.

Spirit Airlines pursued as low cost airline a comparatively radical no-frills approach, as for example, are not only seat assignments, meals on board and checked baggage in addition to pay, but already the hand luggage.

Destinations

Spirit offers scheduled domestic and international flights to about 40 destinations, of which about one-third of lead and in the Caribbean, and Central America.
