Spitfire (Russian band)

Spitfire are a Established in 1993, ska punk band from St. Petersburg.

Band History

Initially, the three of the Rockabilly facing, it's already 1994 on Punk and Ska. Since 1996, enrich jazz, funk, and groove elements the varied sound of the seven -piece band.

2001 is a collaboration with some of the musicians of Markscheider a new art project, which focuses on these jazz elements dedicated: the St. Petersburg Ska Jazz Review.

At the same time, cooperation with another successful band from St. Petersburg, Leningrad deepened. This band invites the crew of Spitfire to their recordings and produced together with them some plates. In addition, they tour the end of 2002 to third with the St. Petersburg Ska Jazz Review by the United States.

In 2004 and 2005 she published an album ever: " Thrills and Kills " and " Too good to be true". Both releases were accompanied by extensive touring that have taken her to Germany.

Music style

Like other bands from St. Petersburg can be difficult to define a style Spitfire. Seemingly effortlessly, they switch between the different directions. This rich variety is reflected not least reflected in a frequent involvement of samplers and compilations.
