Spits (newspaper)

Sp! Ts is a Dutch daily newspaper. This is it, this is a free newspaper which is distributed prior to train and in bus and subway stations.

The newspaper is published from Monday to Friday in tabloid format. Editorial seat is Amsterdam. Editor of the newspaper is the "base Media BV ", a subsidiary of the " Telegraaf Media Groep ." The circulation was 2008 457.619 copies in the first quarter. Editor in Chief 's Bart Brouwers.

History

The first issue of Sp! Ts appeared on 21 June 1999, the same day came the first time, the Dutch branch of the Swedish free newspaper metro out. Editor in chief was Wim Hoogland, who came from the sister newspaper De Telegraaf. In October of that year, the newspaper appealed to the Dutch cartel office filed a lawsuit against the exclusive contract between the Nederlandse Spoorwegen and a metro, the metro guaranteed the exclusive distribution at stations of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen failed so however. The newspaper was then distributed near the railway stations, the exclusive contract was continued until 2004. Despite this exclusive contract Sp! Ts could as metro obtain a similar meaning.

Hoogland returned in November 2005, back to De Telegraaf and was January 30, 2006 Bart Brouwers, previously Dagblad De Limburger editor in chief, replaced. In October 2006, launched Sp! Ts in collaboration with students from the university chain INHOLLAND a daily video show called " ¡ Que Pasó ".

In Sp! Ts currently working about 40 editors. The Internet edition includes an RSS feed and daily video program ¡ Que Pasó! . The print output can be read online as be downloaded as a PDF, all editions since March 2005 are used in the manner provided in the original layout.
