Spitting Image (video game)

Spitting Image is a 1989 video game published by characters from the TV show of the same name. It is a programmed by Walking Circles and published by Domark Beat ' em up

Gameplay

According to the history of the game, a prophet has predicted that in the next seven years, a world war will break out, which from a " mysterious leader"; instigated that is so terrible that the Italians have already capitulated and so fierce that even the Swiss will be involved. To avoid this fate, six world leaders have agreed to fight out the conflict directly - the winner will be the undisputed rulers of the world.

The player chooses one of the six leaders: Margaret Thatcher of the United Kingdom, Ronald Reagan of the United States of America, Mikhail Gorbachev of the Soviet Union, John Paul II, Ayatollah Khomeini and PW Botha of South Africa. The game selects a random opponent and the player's fighters entered the country of the counterparty to determine the winner into 3 rounds. During battle appears Elizabeth II, as a commentator and referee in a postage stamp.

The game was released for 8-bit game consoles, the fights are two-dimensional, the characters have only limited possibilities of attack that can run it. The character can on the ground or in the air by jumping attack and have special abilities - Khomeini can damage caused by the use of his beard as a third fist cause can perform during Thatcher headbutts. Each character can call a helper twice during a fight. This helper throws usually some kind of projectile in the melee, which has a specific arc, which a skilled player can dodge the attack.

After all five opponents were defeated, the player must fight against the " mysterious leader." Spitting Image received bad reviews, but was praised Image title theme for its excellent reproduction of the Spitting.
