Splinter is the seventh studio album by the American punk rock band The Offspring. It was published on 9 December 2003 with Columbia Records and released the successor to the 2000 album Conspiracy of One.

Genesis

The band started after two years of touring activities for Conspiracy of One end of 2002, with the work to Splinter. From January to August 2003 - the longest recording time up to that point - it was, again with Brendan O'Brien, was added. However, this time was chosen Studios in Los Angeles and Atlanta. As drummer Welty was no longer there, they chose Josh Freese with a studio drummer, to look around after the recordings for a replacement. On 1 April 2003, the album was jokingly billed as Chinese Demo Crazy, a parody of the long outstanding album Chinese Democracy by Guns N ' Roses.

Success

The album reached # 30 and Gold status in the U.S. and number 27 in the UK.
