Spoltore

Spoltore is a 18,680 inhabitants and 36 km ² comprehensive community in the immediate vicinity of Cappelle sul Tavo and Monte Silvano and is located in the province of Pescara.

Borders the following municipalities: Cappelle sul Tavo Cepagatti, Monte Silvano, Moscufo, Pescara, Pianella, San Giovanni Teatino (CH)

History

It was found in some remnants of stones in parts of columns and floors the font of a Roman presence in the area. The name of the medieval city dates back to the Germanic and was called "spelled ". In the Middle Ages, the city was part of the municipality of Loreto. In 1927 the city was Spoltore new municipality of the province of Pescara and lost their administrative autonomy. 1947 Spoltore was again detached from Pescara and was given the status as an independent municipality.
