Spoorijzer

Spoorijzer NV, or abbreviated for SIJ NV Spoorwegmaterieel s IJzerconstructie, was a manufacturer of narrow gauge railways in Delft, Netherlands.

History

The company was founded on November 4, 1912 as J. C. Goudriaan 's industry -en Exportmaatschappij founded.

The company built in the 1950s, about 100 rail tractors that were used among others in brick kilns to replace horses. A total of about 160 narrow gauge locomotives and beyond many Loren were built. The last SIJ buildings were closed after several business acquisitions in 1977.
