Spörer Minimum

The Spörerminimum ( after the German astronomer Gustav Spörer ) is a period of particularly low solar activity in the period 1420-1570 with a focus 1420-1550. Since the period is prior to the observation of sunspots, the minimum can only indirectly through the C13 content detected in tree rings of this period. The period coincided with a particularly cool Earth's climate, such as the Maunder Minimum.
