Spornitz

Spornitz is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Parchimer surrounding headquartered in Parchim.

Geography

Spornitz is located about eight kilometers west of Parchim at the northern foothills of the mountains Ruhner, at the transition of the landscape in the flat plains of the nature reserve Lewitz. To the south are the highlands ( 124.9 m above sea level. NHN ) and the leaning mountain ( 119.2 m above sea level. NHN ) the highest elevations. A large part of the municipal area is dominated by arable land, the south-eastern part is forested. Here and in the East, well-preserved remains of Parchimer Landwehr, who was a late medieval and wall -like border security system of the city are Parchim. In the northwest, a partial area of the reserve fish ponds in the Lewitz is the Spornitzer district, the Müritz - Elde waterway where it forms a short stretch the boundary of the municipality.

The municipality consists of the villages Dütschow, Primank, Spornitz and Steinbeck.

History

Spornitz was first mentioned in 1300 as Sporniz. The place name is derived from the old Slavic word for sporŭ abundant or fruitful from. The name should indicate the fertile environment. It is also possible to derive from the village locator descendants of Zbron.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 16 March 2001 by the Home Office and registered under No. 239 of the coat of arms role of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Blazon: "In green two diagonally crossed gold bargeboards with averted horses' heads, accompanied by seven board as provided silver stones. "

The coat of arms was designed by the Schwerin heraldist Heinz Kippnick.

Spornitz

Traffic

By Spornitz the federal highway 191 which connects to the cities Parchim and Neustadt- Glewe runs. The nearest links to the Federal Highway 24 is located in Neustadt- Glewe in about eight kilometers away.

Spornitz has a breakpoint, Dütschow a need stop at the of the East German Railways ( ODEG ) operated railway Parchim -Ludwig pleasure.
