Spórok

Carmerau, Polish Spórok, is a village in the municipality Colonnowska in powiat Strzelecki in the Opole Voivodeship. The village has 667 inhabitants and is the smallest town in the municipality.

Geography

Carmerau is surrounded by woodland and is located 15 kilometers northwest of Strzelce ( United Strehlitz ) on bird Bach - a tributary of the sky witzer water.

History

The colony was founded by the Prussian Minister Carmerau Johann Heinrich von Carmer (1720-1801) and named after him. The older part of the settlement was created in 1764 with 20 settlers places where Austrians were established, most of which the place but left again. 1776 was followed by a new section with 10 points colonists. Soon after, the patrimonial lock Large Strehlitz made ​​his territory claim, whereupon the northern part of the old and the entire new district fell to same, and was henceforth called Counts Carmerau. The remaining Oppelner circles district was named Royal Carmerau ( owned by the Royal Domain Office Opole ). In Royal Carmerau had been a Catholic school. The population of the two districts was largely Catholic denomination and the parish after Sczedrzik. The few Protestants belonged to the parish Malapane.

The circular border cut Carmerau along the main road in two separate rural communities until 1939. It was not until April 1, 1939, the municipality Karmerau [ Royal ] was incorporated into the county United Strehlitz and joined together with Karmerau Counts for community Karmerau.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia in 1921 voted by the 124 voters in Royal Karmerau 59 inhabitants for Germany and 64 for Poland. Of the 211 eligible voters in Counts Karmerau 71 inhabitants voted for Germany and 139 for Poland. Royal Karmerau and Counts Karmerau remained after 1922 in the Weimar Republic.

In 1945, it was under Polish administration. Since 1950, the town is located in the Opole Voivodeship. 1982 was built in Carmerau a Roman Catholic church - a branch church of the parish Krasiejów.

On 14 November 2008 the site received an additional official German name Carmerau.
