Sports and Congress Hall (short spok ) is a multi-purpose hall in Schwerin with 5184 fixed seats. However, for maximum utilization of the interior space it can hold up to 8120 people. The hall is located on the monument list the state of Mecklenburg -Vorpommern.

The hall served as the venue of the home matches of the former handball second division side SV Post Schwerin. In addition, it is also used for other sporting events used (eg SSC volleyball and track and field meeting of the Schwerin schools ) as well as for performances, concerts and the annual Alpha Rave.

Was built in the sports and convention hall between 1958 and 1962. The hall with its overarching steel truss, resting on four reinforced concrete pillars, was designed in the VEB Industrieprojektierung North operating part Rostock by Hans Fröhlich and designed by Paul Peters, Erwin Beckmann and Fritz Breuer. In the 1960s the hall was one in its architectural design to the most advanced in the GDR. The aluminum roof covers 5600 square meters. The total weight of the steel structure with its glazing is 500 tons.

In the period from May to October 2009 involved extensive reconstruction work in which, among other things, the ceiling load was increased, which now allows for more comprehensive television productions and a more impressive stage shows. Furthermore, the hall is now divided by curtains, allowing it to take over the TV tower and the tasks since the end of February 2009 closed hall. Moreover, a large part of the chair is replaced by 2010. Also, windows and wardrobes were renewed.

Since a purpose of redistribution should take place, the school sport was excluded from the hall and laid in a parallel built three-field Hall.
