Sprang-Capelle

Sprang -Capelle was a town in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It was formed on January 1, 1923 unification of the three communities Capelle, Sprang -Capelle and Vrijhoeve. On January 1, 1997, it was incorporated into Waalwijk. At the time the resolution was one of Sprang -Capelle 10,041 inhabitants 24.73 km ² .. A small part of the municipality (0.14 km ² with 12 inhabitants ) Loon op Zand was slammed.

In the winter of 1944/45, it came at the Battle of the Capelle Kapelsche Veer. Canadian troops made heavy losses the defensive positions of the Germans.
