Sprendlingen

Sprendlingen ( Rheinhessen ) is a municipality in the district Mainz -Bingen, in Rhineland -Palatinate. The municipality is the administrative center of the municipality Sprendlingen gene Ingen, who also belongs. Sprendlingen located in Rheinhessen between Mainz and Bad Kreuznach on Wiesbach. Neighboring municipalities are Baden home, priests Swabia Home, Zotzenheim, St. Johann and Gau- Bickelheim.

History

The first mention Sprendlingens takes place in a tradition of the monastery of Lorsch in the year 767, King Charles the Bald gave the village in the year 877 the monastery of St. pin. Gertrude to Nivelle in Brabant. In later times the place came into the possession of the County of Sponheim. In 1707 Baden Sprendlingen was owned and formed a Margrave from Baden - office.

Attractions

There is a local history museum, housed in an old half-timbered house and the old town hall on the market square. The Gertrud district still houses many older buildings. Thanks to the farmers and winemakers association Sprendlingen the Via della Vigna is maintained, an adventure trail through the vineyards.

Natural Monuments

The Steinberg (also called Napoleon height ) is one of the sites in Rheinhessen with about ten million year old mammal remains from the Dinotheriensanden of the ancient Rhine.
