Spring Temple Buddha

The Buddha Zhongyuan (Chinese鲁山 大佛/鲁山 大佛, Pinyin Lǔshān DAFO ) is a colossal statue in Lushan county of Henan province. She is also known by the English name Spring Temple Buddha.

Construction of the statue in 1997, it was inaugurated on 1 September 2008. The Buddha statue has a height of 108 meters; with its 45 meter high pedestal, the statue reaches a total height of about 153 meters. This makes it both for the pure character height and according to the total amount currently the highest statue in the world (as of 2011). The construction of the statue cost 1.2 billion yuan ( about 146 million euros ).
