History

The location of today's Springdale was first settled in the fall of 1862 by Mormons. First, however, did not develop their own community affairs; the people went to their church- and shopping in the nearby Rockville. Around 1885, then opened in Springdale, the first public building that was used as a church and school, and in 1897 created a separate church building.

Springdale went through a change in acting until today, in 1917, the first groups of tourists arrived in the village. In September 1920, the Mukuntuweap National Monument, the forerunner of the Zion National Park was established. As a result, a power grid and gas stations as well as accommodations and shops for tourists have been set up in the village. 1959 Springdale was officially registered as a church.
