Spurious Free Dynamic Range

Spurious -Free Dynamic Range, SFDR to German as " interference-free dynamic range ", is a common in German-speaking specification to specify the distance of the largest disturbance to the fundamental oscillation in a spectrum.

In communication engineering with SFDR is the dynamic range ( eg amplifier ) denotes, in which no higher harmonics ( intermodulation products ) emerge from the noise out.

The SFDR is limited downwards by the minimum input power of the amplifier, at the top by the noise power ( = intermodulation performance ) at the output.
