Spurius Maelius

Spurius Maelius († 439 BC) was a legendary figure of the early Roman Republic.

According to the unreliable and several centuries embodied by the events the Roman tradition Maelius was a wealthy plebeians of the highest census class ( eques ), granaries had let create and BC sold at a famine 440/439 grain at low prices to the people. He is doing the consulate or even the royal dignity have sought. This meant that he was accused by Lucius Minucius Esquiline Augurinus, the then Prefect annonae. Shortly thereafter Maelius of Gaius Servilius was Ahala, the magister of the dictator Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus equitum, killed because he had not complied with a summons.
