SS-Kaliert

SS Kaliert is a company incorporated in 2003 German punk band from North Rhine- Westphalia.

Band History

SS Kaliert released several demos and eventually signed with the New York label Punk Core Records. There, their first album DSKlation was published on 11 June 2006. Subsequently, the band released on the label Razor Blade Music, which was led by Nils and his brother, the album Addiction. According to the company, it reached gold status with a total of 100 372 units sold. In the official database, the album is, however, not recorded. You appeared on People Like You Records to date last album Subzero. The intro was spoken by the actor Ralf Richter. The album was produced by Waldemar Sorychta. The band has already toured Europe, the United States, Russia and Japan.

Controversy

The name SS - Kaliert reads escalated it. The typography plays on the abbreviation of Schutzstaffel and was chosen on the grounds of provocation. Since their previous label Punkcore was confronted within the punk scene with allegations because they used the slogan in an advertisement " Germany above all ", also SS Kaliert was criticized. However, SS Kaliert confessed in interviews to an anti-fascist sentiments.

2009 raised the Duisburg public prosecutor due to the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations, since the group performed twice Siegrune the Schutzstaffel in the logo. The procedure took place at the District Court of Duisburg on November 6, 2009. Accused were both the band and also the mother of the Nile, because the label from the parental home was run out and the mother had supported them. All participants were initially sentenced to a fine of 3,300 €. The charges were later dropped, however.
