SSV Stötteritz

The SSV Stötteritz is a German sports club from the Leipzig district Stötteritz. Homestead of the association is the Southeast Stadium, which offers 10,000 spectators.

Football section

The football section of the SSV Stötteritz, in 1911, founded in 1892 within the Gymnastics Federation Stötteritz, but resigned in the following period as workers gymnastics and sports club Stötteritz in appearance. 1924 Stötteritz merged with the Free Turnerschaft Southeast Leipzig Leipzig VfL Stötteritz, later, the club went on also known as VfL Leipzig- southeast.

In sporting terms, presented the Saxon workers club next to the Dresdner SV 1910 one of the most successful teams in the championship of the Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association. Early twenties won the Leipzig three times the ATSB Federal Championship, in which they could prevail in the finals against each Nordiska Berlin, Kassel BV 06 and 22 Berlin Alemannia. A stone is reminiscent of a match of a German worker selection against a Soviet team in 1927.

With the seizure of power by the National Socialists, VfL Southeast was dissolved. The team joined the bulk of the SV southeast.

1945, the club was re-established as SG Stötteritz. The sports community acted to 1947 in Leipzig's city league, which was at that time in terms of performance with the Berlin city league comparable. The jump in 1952 was created District League Leipzig missed Stötteritz. In the following years several name changes took place, the BSG stood as Star East Leipzig, Leipzig mechanics Southeast, as well as motor Southeast Leipzig. 1956 a merger between East and motor Stötteritz to BSG Motor Stötteritz was completed. The BSG played in the GDR football no role in the higher-class football, and moved only at the district level class. Since 1990, the club plays under the name SSV Stötteritz. The current league is after relegation in 2013 from the District League North, the city league Leipzig.
