St Margaret's Chapel, Edinburgh

The St. Margaret 's Chapel is the oldest surviving building in Edinburgh, Scotland.

It was built in the 12th century. It is one of the best preserved buildings from the era of the Norman style in the UK.

Legend has it that Queen Margaret of Scotland, was baptized in this chapel, new research shows, however, that the chapel was built only by her fourth son David, who in 1124 became King of Scotland.
