St Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh (Roman Catholic)

The St Patrick's Cathedral is a Gothic cathedral in the Northern Ireland city of Armagh and the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church Archdiocese of Armagh. History

After the Catholic Archbishop of Armagh, William Crolly, for some time began for a Catholic cathedral began after a committee was formed for the construction of a cathedral on St. Patrick 's Day in 1840, the construction work. The first architect Thomas Duff died in 1848 during construction. 1853 took over J. J. McCarthy whose work. 1904, the cathedral was completed and consecrated by Michael Logue.

The cathedral is 63.3 m long. Pope Pius IX. sent a copy of Raphael's Madonna of Foligno to Armagh. Even the Emperor of Austria gave the Cathedral of Armagh a gift. The Cathedral of Armagh is one of the largest church buildings in Ireland.
