St. George is a settlement in Alaska, north of the Aleutian Islands in the Bering Sea. It is located on the northeastern shore of the island of St. George, the southernmost of the four islands in the group of the Pribilof Islands.

Population and Economy

The island is accessible by boat or by plane from Anchorage. On the island live around the 165 to 200 people. About 96 % are residents of the Aleutian Islands. The main industry is fishing. Mostly halibut and king crab are caught. The settlement has a deep sea port, a fish processing plant, a hotel and a Russian Orthodox church.
