St. George Utah Temple

The St. George Utah Temple is the oldest temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ( Mormons), which is still in operation. It is located in St. George in the U.S. state of Utah.

About the consecration meeting on April 6, 1877 Brigham Young presided, the dedicatory prayer was spoken by George A. Smith. Wilford Woodruff was the first temple president from 1 January 1877 to 26 June 1884.

After a rebuilding of the temple, he was re-consecrated on 11 November 1975 by President Spencer W. Kimball.
