St. Helena AVA

St. Helena AVA (or Saint Helena AVA, recognized since 11 September 1995) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California and is part of the regional Napa Valley AVA. The vineyards around the town of St. Helena, who gave the region its name. The recognized areas are located at the northern end of Napa Valley between the Vaca Mountains and the Mayacamas Mountains. Here founded Charles Krug, who is generally considered the founder of viticulture in the Napa Valley, in 1861, Charles Krug Winery its operation.
