St. John the Baptist Church (Manhattan)

The St. John the Baptist Church is a Roman Catholic parish church of the Archdiocese of New York. The neo-Gothic building located in the 210 West 31st Street near Pennsylvania Station and Madison Square Garden.

History

The community was founded in 1840 as the second German Catholic community, which was previously based in the St. Nicholas ' Church. The first pastor was the Hungarian Zachary Kunze, who later became pastor at St. Francis of Assisi 's Church was.

Construction
