St. Mark's Church, Zagreb

The Romanesque windows that were discovered under their facade on the south side, suggest that the church was built in the early 13th century.

In the second half of the 14th century the church was rebuilt in the Gothic style.

The south portal of the church was designed by sculptors from Prague in the late 14th century.

The church, with its numerous statues is one of the most beautiful in this part of Europe.

On the roof of the church, the current coat of arms of Zagreb is ( white castle on red background) and the historical coat of arms of the Triune Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia.
