St. Teresa of Jesus Jornet

Teresa Jornet y Ibars ( born January 9, 1843 in Aytona, Catalonia, Spain, † August 26 1897 in Liria ( Valencia in Spain) was a Spanish nun and is revered in the Catholic Church as a saint.

In 1872, Teresa joined by his religious name in the convent of Poor Clares in Zaragoza and took the religious name Teresa of Jesus. In the same year in Barbastro, Aragon, the "Institute of the Little Sisters of the abandoned old people ", better known as the Little Sisters of the Poor, which she headed until her death.
