St. Valentin auf der Haide

San Valentino alla Muta (Italian San Valentino alla Muta ) is a fraction and cadastral district of the municipality of Graun in South Tyrol (Italy).

The village in the Reschenpass is 1472 m slm, directly between Haider and Reschensee the debris cone of Mals Heath. San Valentino alla Muta has about 800 inhabitants who live mainly in the summer and winter tourism or agriculture.

History

The latest findings are evidence of a first settlement in St. Valentin from the Roman period. At that time, to relying Dörfl ( Monteplair ) have found a horse-drawn carriage station of the Romans.

The first Tourist Association St. Valentine was founded in 1904 under the name " pro loco " on the establishment of the first ski club in South Tyrol, the Ski Club Haid followed in 1905. Late 19th century and early 20th century, tourism has in Obervinschgau established. A tourist boom, there was also the construction of the Vinschgau Railway in 1905, then St. Valentine was touted as a winter of Chur local Merano.
