St. Wendelin chapel

St. Wendelin is a Roman Catholic chapel in the Freiburg district of Waldsee.

The small chapel is located about 15 minutes east of St. Ottilia above the Musbachtals on the small Roßkopf at an altitude of 540 m. It belongs to the parish of St. Hilary in Flattens. It is named after St.. Wendelin, a king's son, who lived as a shepherd and hermit. Wendelin is the patron saint of shepherds and flocks. According to the documents of the Capuchins, the first chapel was built of wood in 1723 and served the Ebneter pastoralists as protection against storms. Pilgrims and pilgrims who went from Freiburg on the Roßkopf to St. Peter, this chapel used for the protection and devotion. The present stone chapel in 1895 was financed and built by the Ebneter citizens. Even today it is maintained by Flattens out.
