Stabilia (automobile)

Automobiles Stabilia was a French manufacturer of automobiles.

Company History

The designer Vrard, who worked for Automobiles Leon Bollee and De Dion -Bouton before, already presented in 1904 a prototype forth and presented it at the Paris Motor Show. In 1907 he founded the company Automobiles Stabilia in Neuilly -sur -Seine to the production of automobiles. The brand name was Stabilia. 1911 the company was renamed in Giraldy et Vrard. The production took place in Neuilly now and Asnières- sur-Seine. In 1920 a re- renamed Vrard et Cie and the limitation to the production site Asnières. 1930 production ended.

Rolling stock

In 1904 only a prototype. 1908 appeared the first production model with a four-cylinder engine and 2200 cc capacity. Very early Stabilia used the underslung - type and thus lowered both the ground clearance as well as the center of gravity. Between 1912 and 1914, there were models with 1500 cc, 1700 cc and 2700 cc capacity.

In 1920, the Model 14 CV 2800 cc displacement and four-speed transmission. Between 1924 and 1926, built-in motors of Alto with 1500 cc and 2000 cc engine capacity used. In 1927 a small model of Gobron was manufactured under license. The last model in 1930 was equipped with an eight-cylinder in-line engine with 1400 cc capacity.
