Stabilisation forces

Stabilization forces in addition to the Eingreifkräften and support forces one of the three categories of forces Bundeswehr, classify the units of the Bundeswehr of equipment, availability, training and ability. The stabilization forces comprise 70,000 troops, of which up to 14,000 in up to five different areas are limited in use.

Task

Stabilization forces provide for multinational forces, armed forces joint military operations on low and medium intensity. In contrast to the Eingreifkräften they are for peace -keeping duties longer duration. For interventions for conflict prevention and crisis management, however, these two categories can also forces simultaneously or in close succession are used and are therefore capable of interaction. As part of the friedensstabilisierender inserts the conditions for the development of state or social structures ( "Nation Building" ) to be created. These parties are separated and protected the population. Stabilization forces exist because of the participation in foreign missions mainly of professional and regular soldiers and volunteer payable military service.
