Stacey King

Ronald Stacey King ( born January 29, 1967 in Lawton, Oklahoma ) is a former American professional basketball player and coach. He currently works as a color commentator on television and hosted the games of the Bulls.

College

From the 1985-89 King played for the basketball team his college the Oklahoma Sooners. He once reached the Final Four and even the Sweet 16 with the Sooners. In his last season, as the Final Four was reached, he was the best scorer of the team with 26 points per game and was selected teams in several All-American.

Professional career

Since he had drawn attention to himself by his good performances he was picked in the NBA Draft in 1989 already in 6th place by the Chicago Bulls. He was one of three first-round picks the Bulls. He was appointed All- Rookie Second Team after his first year as a pro in the NBA. During his time with the Bulls, he was three times NBA champion, but did not so often used and started only 23 times in four years. Therefore, he was traded during NBA season 1993-1994 in exchange for Luc Longley to the Minnesota Timberwolves. For the Timberwolves, he played 50 games and was not so successful, and then played one season in the CBA in Grand Rapids. He then played briefly in Italy before joining the Miami Heat. In Miami was rarely used and was removed from the squad on 17 July 1996. Among the Sioux Falls Skyforce, he moved it. For Sioux Falls, he did not play for one season and signed part of the time with the Boston Celtics and one with the Dallas Mavericks a 10 -day contract, but was not included in the squad. In the following season he played in Turkey and then returned to Sioux Falls back. The following year he ended his active career in Argentina.

Coaching career

In his first season with the coach Rockford Lightning he reached directly the CBA Finals, but lost it against the Dakota Wizards. After the season moved within the league to his old club the Sioux Falls Skyforce. With Sioux Falls not even reached the play-offs and finished after his coaching career.
