Stachys the Apostle († 54) was, according to tradition of the Orthodox Church 38-54, the second bishop of Byzantium (later Constantinople Opel ) and the successor of the Apostle Andrew, of which he is to be ordained a bishop. According to the Orthodox tradition, he died a natural death.
In the Orthodox Church he is considered one of the seventy disciples of Jesus Christ and is revered as a saint. His feast day is October 31.
It is not clear whether he is identical to the Stachys, Paul greets in Romans 16.9 EU in Rome.
