The Stade du Hainaut ( Project name: Stade Nungesser II) is the new home stadium of FC Valenciennes. In 2008, construction began on the modern football stadium. It is in the district Nungesser, south of Valenciennes, built. Nearby there are already a sports hall and tennis courts, and since June 2006 can be from out of town reached by tram.

It has a capacity of 24,926 spectators at football games compared to 16,547 in the old Stade Nungesser. At concerts or other events for up to 40,000 spectators are possible.

In July 2009, the Administrative Court of Lille annulled the building permit for the stadium. This judgment was upheld by the Supreme Administrative Court of Douai in October. The opening of the arena was then postponed to January 2011.

In October 2010, announced the club president of FC Valenciennes Francis Decourrière that the stadium will finish in spring 2011 and Valenciennes can play in the new stadium in the season 2011 /12. The cost of 75 million euro share of the community association Communauté d' agglomération de Valenciennes Métropole (55 million euros ) and the Nord- Pas -de- Calais ( 20 million euros ).
