The National Stade El Hadj Hassan Gouled Aptidon is a multi-purpose stadium built in 1993 in the Djiboutian capital Djibouti. There is an artificial turf field, a running track and three sports halls for martial arts and table tennis. The stadium has two stands 10,000 spectators. In the system, the games of the football team, the first Football League and the Football Cup of the country and the national athletics competitions are held.

History

Built by the People's Republic of China 's stadium was inaugurated by the former President Hassan Gouled Aptidon, after which it is named, on 26 June 1993. The first official international match at the stadium was held on 7 April 2000. Here Djibouti met in a qualifying match for the FIFA World Cup 2002 to the DR Congo and reached a 1:1.

2002 artificial turf was laid in 2007 was the replacement of the covering. FIFA took over the "Project Goal" in the work. After completing a first international meeting on the new course took place with the match against Somalia on 16 November 2007.

Every year, a half marathon will be held in the stadium.

Management

The sports complex is managed by the public institution " Stade El Hadj Hassan Gouled Aptidon ", which is affiliated to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
