The Stade Léo Lagrange is the home ground of French football club Besançon RC. Besancon is in Doubs in the Franche -Comté. In 1939 opened under the name Stade de la gibelotte offers today 11,500 spectators. It is part of a larger sports park. Its present name, it has the French politician Léo Lagrange (* 1900, † 1940).

The stadium used to have a velodrome. So Jacques Anquetil tried in 1964 to set up on the web a new hour record, and in 1980 took place in the Oval rail - Cycling World Championships take place. Later the track was removed. On 17 December 1994, the company met the French rugby union team and the Canadian national rugby union team ( 28:9 ) to each other. Were held in France and Luxembourg 1996 U-18 European Football Championships. Four games took place in Besançon; including the 3rd place match and the final between France and Spain ( 2-1 ).

The attendance record dates from 10th March 1979. Besançon RC to match AS Saint -Étienne 24,000 spectators came to the stadium.
