The Maurice Dufrasne Stadium (also: Stade de Sclessin ) is a football stadium in Liege and the home stadium of the football club Standard Liege. Situated in the Liège area Sclessin Stadium today has approximately 30,000 seats (excluding seats) and is thus in accordance with the King Baudouin stadium in Brussels, the second largest stadium in Belgium.

History

The stadium was built in 1909 and named in 1925 after the then club president. In 1925 it had a capacity of about 20,000 spectators. It was the venue for the European Football Championships in 1972 and 2000.
