Stadel bei Niederglatt

Stadel [ ʃta dəl ː ] ( in the local dialect: [ ʃtadəl ] ) is a municipality in the district of Dielsdorf the canton of Zurich in Switzerland. To distinguish it from other towns of the same name with the addition of low smoothness is added sometimes.

To Stadel since 1907 include wind Lach, Raat and Schüpfheim. The civil parish Windlach was dissolved on January 1, 2010.

Geography

Arts Culture

The lions fountain is an octagonal late Renaissance fountain from 1636. Richly decorated column contains lion masks, coat of arms and a seated lion holding shield.

Train

Stadel is a local center, which houses the upper school for the neighboring communities of Bach, Neerach and Weiach.

Name

Stadel bei Niederglatt is first mentioned in 1173; an older document stadala from the year 1044 can not be assigned to secure. The name comes stadal on OHG, MHG stadium, stable, barn ' back (or for the document of 1044 on its plural form).
