The Stadio Comunale is a football stadium with a career in the Swiss municipality of Bellinzona. It is the home of the football club AC Bellinzona. The stadium was built in 1948 and is owned by the municipality.
The capacity is 10,000 seats. Of these, 2,000 seats and 8,000 standing places. The playing surface is natural grass.
In October 2012, the AC Bellinzona unveiled plans for a new stadium for the requirements of the Swiss Football League no longer sufficient Stadio Comunale. The venue is to receive 12,000 courts and a closable roof. To the construction project but also include a media center, a rehabilitation center, a gym, a hotel, two restaurants, a bar, meeting rooms and a library.
