The Stadio Mirabello is a football stadium in the Italian city of Reggio Emilia in the province of Reggio Emilia in Emilia -Romagna region. It was from 1919 until the move to the newly built Stadio Giglio in 1995, the venue of the AC Reggiana. This was followed in the plant, the unterklassige football team Brescello U.S. until 2001. Thereafter, the sports facility was built back up to the main grandstand. From once 17,000 places on the four closely spaced on the pitch ranks remained until today 4,400 seats remaining. From 2001 to 2012, the rugby union team ASD Rugby Reggio went to the Mirabello. Currently, the system is in use the first women's soccer team AC Reggiana Femminile.

History

In April 1910, the site was first used as a football pitch. The first wooden grandstand was built in 1913. As of 1919, the AC Reggiana was founded; the stadium received a further wooden stand, stepped standing and a wall around the stadium. The wood got rank 1921 roof. Were erected, the buildings from the Austro-Hungarian prisoners of war; since at that time was the sports facility owned by the Italian Ministry of War.

In the early 1980s the AC Reggiana returned to Serie B and the stands were replaced by new buildings. In 1988 there was the construction of another rank. Reggiana rose in 1993 in Serie A on. Initially the stadium was on the outskirts of the city; but over time, the city grew and around the stadium the houses. There was no possibility of expansion of the system and in terms of the age of the plan was the construction of a new stadium. In 1995, the inauguration and the parade was held in the new home of AC Reggiana. Today, the first women's team of AC Reggiana Femminile receives their opponents in Mirabello.
