The Stadio Sandro Cabassi is a football stadium in the Italian city of Carpi. It can accommodate 4,164 spectators and is the club Carpi FC as homestead.

History

The Stadio Sandro Cabassi in Carpi, a town of nearly 70,000 inhabitants in the Province of Modena in Italy, located in north-central region of Emilia -Romagna, was built between 1926-1928 and opened on 21 October of the latter year. At first it was named Stadio Comunale, which, however, after the end of World War II should change again. Then it got its present name after Sandro Cabassi, a member of the Fronte della gioventù per l' indipendenza nazionale e per la libertà, the organization that fought against Italian fascism to Duce Benito Mussolini and was also involved in the deposition of the dictator. Cabassi, his character was born in Carpi, died in 1944. Since then transmits the local stadium named Stadio Sandro Cabassi.

Since the construction of the sports facility 1928, the football club Carpi FC carries out its home games there. Carpi excelled in their history, especially by the fact that for decades commuted by the lower division italian leagues and not make it past the third division. It was not until the 2013/14 season Carpi FC succeeded for the first time the jump to Serie B, the second- highest division in the Italian football.
