The stadium Miejski, also INEA Stadium ( German Municipal Stadium ) Poznan, Poland, is the football stadium of the club Lech Poznan and currently offers 43 269 spectators only seats. The owner of the stadium is the city of Poznan.

History

The construction of the stadium began in 1968. The opening took place twelve years later on 23 August 1980. Lech Poznan played against the inauguration Motor Lublin, before 18,000 spectators 1-1 tie. In 1986, a 1890 Lux strong floodlights were installed; which came into use on 15 October 1986 for the European Championship qualifier against Poland Greece. In 2006, the Poznan stadium was the venue for the opening match and the final of the U-19 Football Championship.

Conversion for Euro 2012

For the European Football Championship 2012, the venue has been completely renovated. The cost of the renovation amounted to 582 million zloty (about 147 million euros ). To the stadium 900 parking spaces have been created. On 20 September 2010, the stadium was opened after reconstruction with a concert by the British singer Sting. The venue in Poznan was opened as the first of the four Polish stadiums.

2012 European Football Championship

During the European Championship three preliminary matches were held in Poznan.
