Staffan Strand

Staffan beach ( Bo Staffan beach; born April 18, 1976 in Upplands Väsby ) is a former Swedish high jumper.

Beach was victorious in the U23 European Championships in 1997 with 2.28 meters before the German Martin Buss. In 1998 he was 2.27 meters aft at the European Championships in Budapest. At the World Indoor Championships in Maebashi in 1999 he placed at 2.25 meters ranked fifth at the World Championships in Seville, he jumped 2.29 and was again fifth.

In Sydney at the Olympic Games 2000 Olympic champion Sergei Kljugin only jumped 2.35 meters. Six other Springer had crossed 2.32 meters and were sorted according to the mistrial rule. Staffan beach was ranked No. 6 again. At the World Indoor Championships in Lisbon in 2001, he won the bronze medal with 2.29 meters behind compatriot Stefan Holm and the Ukrainian Andriy Sokolowskyj. With 2.25 meters in 2001 he was seventh at the World Championships in Edmonton in the summer.

At the European Indoor Championships in Vienna in 2002 jumped 2.34 meters beach and won gold ahead of Stefan Holm. At the European Championships in Munich beach took 2.27 m bronze behind the Russian Yaroslav Rybakov (2.31 m) and Stefan Holm (2.29 m).

With 2.25 meters beach was seventh at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham in 2003. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens beach is placed on the 18th place.

Beach was in 1995, 1996 and 1997 Swedish Champion. His Besthöhe is at 2.35 meters and 2.32 meters in the hall outside. According to the Swedish club championships in 2008 Staffan beach announced on July 4 on its website the end of his career.

The 1.88 m wide and competition 75kg beach studied at the University of Minnesota, where he made a Ph. D. in Computer Engineering.
