Stage Fright is a knetanimierter short film by Steve Box from the year 1997.

Action

Tiny was once a star of vaudeville and enthusiastic than dogs juggler the masses. Now he is in a rundown theater. Actor Arnold appears and pushes Tiny angry in the orchestra pit. A review begins.

Tiny waits with his dogs behind the scenes on his appearance. One of his dogs is gone, but comforts him his assistant Daphne. The dogs Juggling number falls by the audience. It only responds again thrilled when a screen is lowered to the stage. To piano music of the silent film Lonesome Arnold, Arnold wants to commit suicide in the actor begins at the end with the provided cable, however, a woman rescues. When you are Daphne and Tinys -lost dog can be seen in the film. Daphne has the dog for the shooting " borrowed ". Arnold leaves Tiny are now working for themselves as Hundedressierer, but conceals his earnings. Over the years, Arnold is a star because of the dogs in the silent film. However, one day he turns with Daphne a sound film. One of the dogs is an old trick to Tiny's Arnold showing off, but instead bites him in the nose. Arnold is outraged and makes Tiny responsible. The admits that Arnold had brought him to his dogs to train so that they bite Arnold. Even Daphne has realized that Arnold is only a slave-driver, and turns away from him.

As Tiny now hangs in the presence above the orchestra pit and hovers in mortal danger strikes Daphne Arnold ko. It comes to a duel, in which also the dogs involved. Arnold finally lets down the theater screen, but does not meet Daphne and the dogs, but crushed him. Tiny was able to escape from the abyss, as a ghost with the film piano from the orchestra pit goes into the air. Tiny climbs from the piano and the spirit of Arnold's rises and travels on the piano in hell. Daphne convinces Tiny them, again perform with his old number, even if Tiny afraid of the reaction of the audience. Together leave Tiny, Daphne and the dogs the theater.

Production

Stage Fright was implemented as Claymation. Tiny and Arnold are eingsprochen by Graham Fellows, while Daphne by Tess Daulton is spoken. The film was released on 19 November 1997.

Awards

Stage Fright won the 1998 BAFTA for Best Animated Short.
