Stainless steel soap

Steel soap ( also stainless steel soap) is a handy piece of stainless steel with fine-to microstructured surface. He is said in rolling or rubbing with water to afflicted with certain odorants skin significantly, with ordinary soap unreachable odor effect, for example in garlic, onion, cabbage, fish and the smell of gasoline.

In scientific assessments doubts about such effectiveness are partly expressed and partly tried approaches to the explanation of the space occupied by opinions and unconfirmed empirical testing effect. For the steel soap a catalytic effect is suspected. That is, the stainless steel is a temporary connection with the odor- causing substances to the hands, and thereby allowing the oxidation to water-soluble and non-gaseous substances. An alternative explanation is the adsorption of odor molecules on stainless steel.
