Ståle Sandbech

Ståle Sandbech (* June 3, 1993 in Bærum ) is a Norwegian snowboarder. 2010 and 2014 he participated at the Olympic Winter Games in 2014 he won silver in the slopestyle men.

Career

Sandbech began at age eight with the snowboard sport, 2007, he took on Einsteigerkontest the "Arctic Challenge" - a competition for snowboarders and, in part. The organizer Terje Håkonsen described the then 13 -year-old as the best young snowboarders.

As the youngest Norwegian athletes since Sonja Henie 1928 Sandbech represented as a 16- year-old Norway at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vanvoucer. He scored the fifth place in the Halfpipe World Cup on Kreischberg, Austria and the 2nd place in the Big Air contest the World Cup in the United Kingdom 2010. In 2011, he again achieved a place in the top five in the UK in the World Cup.

He took both 2012 in Beijing, and in 2013 part of the Air & Style in Innsbruck and took third and fifth place. In 2013, he reached the second place in slopestyle of the World Cup in the Czech Republic and won the World Cup in this discipline in Colorado, USA. Sandbech previously also won two medals at the Winter X Games. In the years 2013 and 2014 he reached each the bronze medal in Big Air contest.

At the Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi, Russia Sandbech won on February 8, the silver medal in the inaugural slopestyle competition.
