Stall strips

Trip hazards are aware of changes arranged along the airfoil (especially ) smaller aircraft.

With the help of these trip hazards an uneven flow separation on the wing is produced at low speeds, which in turn leads to a shaking of the aircraft. Thus, the pilot is advised of the incipient stall and the associated loss of lift.

Trip hazards are particularly necessary to wing profiles with high aerodynamic quality, since otherwise a stall would use the entire wing quasi-simultaneously without significant warning.
