Stam1na

Stam1na is a Finnish thrash metal band from Lemi.

History

Stam1na was founded in 1996 by Antti Hyyrynen, Pekka Olkkonen and Teppo vellum under the name " Stamina ". In the first three demos that have emerged in the years 1997 to 2000 Hyyrynen, who also plays bass at this time singing, still in English. From the demo Vihaa of 2001, all texts are in Finnish. 2002 change the members shortly after the release of 2002 promo the band name to " Stam1na " in order to distinguish themselves better in search engines against the same stamen can.

In 2004, Stam1na a recording contract as a second band at the fledgling label Sakara Records, which had been founded in the year by members of the band Mokoma. With the support of producer Janne Aaltonen Miitri Joutsenniemi and the debut album Stam1na, which was published on 2 March 2005 and reached during the eight- week stay in the Finnish album charts was number 13. In the following months Stam1na toured a lot, which is why bassist Kai- Pekka Kangasmäki was recorded as a session and touring musician who finally completed the line-up in November 2005 as a permanent member. In the Finnish Metal Awards 2005 on 17 February 2006, she received the award for " Newcomer of the Year ".

The second album Uudet Kymmenen käskyä appeared on 10 May 2006 and debuted at number three on the Finnish album charts. The critically acclaimed album sold very over 15,000 units with the 12 June 2008 and was awarded the Emma in the category "Best Metal Album" and a gold record. The resulting single from the Likainen parketti reached number 1 in the singles charts.

In November 2006, the band toured together with Mokoma and Rytmihäiriö by Finland. It was at Nosturi in Helsinki, the DVD Sakara Tour 2006 recorded in Teatria in Oulu and in Rytmikorjaamo in Seinäjoki, which appeared in May 2007. She then got to work on their third album. In October, the band accompanied her Finnish colleagues of Apocalyptica and Sturm und Drang on the World Collides tour of the Baltic states and Germany.

Raja, the third album, was released on 13 February 2008 and immediately debuted at # 1 on the Finnish album charts. In the Finnish Metal Awards 2008 in February 2009 Raja received the award as the best album of the year and the best for the cover artwork. In addition Stam1na was voted best band of the year and Antti Hyyrynen the best singer of the year.

On February 10, published in 2010 Stam1na the fourth studio album Viimeinen Atlantis. It is available including as vinyl and in book form, the book contains a photo-reportage of the recording sessions and a comic that has been revealed gradually on the specially created to Album Website viimeinenatlantis.fi since 9 December 2009. As was the Raja rose Viimeinen Atlantis straight to number 1 of the Finnish album charts, beating out the new album of the internationally better-known band HIM, and still sold in the first week after release enough copies for a gold record.

Early November 2010, published Stam1na at the suggestion of many fans, the compilation Vanhaa paskaa that contains their self-published, long out of print demos and promos from 1997 to 2008 and some rehearsed for earlier albums songs. The compilation reached # 2 on the Finnish album charts. Following the band went along with their labelmates Mokoma, Rytmihäiriö and FM2000 on the Sakara Tour 2010. Two performances also the youngest label access Teräsbetoni is represented.

On 8 February 2012, the fifth studio album nocebo, which still received a gold record like their previous appearance in the week appeared.
