History

In the year 740 Stammham was first documented and has been for centuries the seat of the mother parish of all the surrounding towns. The parish church, dedicated to St. Lawrence, was built in the late 15th century. To the parish ( and school) Sprengel Stammham includes parts of the neighboring communities Marktl, Julbach and Zeilarn with Lanhofen and the local branch church " Assumption ". Stammham was in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria in 1818 an independent political community.

The municipality consists of the villages Haunreit, a former noble residence, Hofschallern with the former economy parsonage.
